Creating Commands

Create command(s) to start the licenses of PTC software. Your goal is to define a command and attach either a license or licenses to that command.

Adding a New Pro/ENGINEER Command

In these steps, you configure a command to execute the license(s) selected.

  1. Click Add.
  2. Enter a command name in the Command Name field (for example, proe22).
  3. Choose the Command Type (for example, Pro/ENGINEER).
  4. Select the licenses that you want the command name to execute by clicking Modify.
  5. From the list of available licenses, highlight the license, and move it to the left-hand column. Use the <<< button.

Note: If multiple licenses are attached to a command, the command starts the licenses in the order in which they were attached until a license starts. You can change the order by using Up and Down.

Choose Details to show more information about a license.

Select Edit to modify an existing command. Select Delete to remove a command.

Locating Other Installation Directories (Optional)

In order for Pro/ENGINEER to find other PTC products, you must either specify their installation directories or specify where you intend to install the products.

Enter the full path to the installation directory. You can also click the folder icon, navigate the folder hierarchy, and select the loadpoint. You can point to the installation directories for the following products: PTC Application Manager, Pro/INTRALINK, Pro/PDM, and the Graphic Library.

Creating the Pro/NC-POST Command

Optionally, you can enter a command for Pro/NC-POST.

Associating the Command Name with the PTC OLE Server

(Windows Only) If you plan to configure Pro/ENGINEER as a PTC Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) server and you want to use the Pro/ENGINEER command name with the PTC OLE server, choose the PTC OLE Server option.

When Pro/ENGINEER is configured as an OLE server, the user of the client application can import Pro/ENGINEER files (parts, drawings, and assemblies) into Microsoft documents (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
